The RED Dragon camera has an interchangeable OLPF (optical low-pass filter) System. An OLPF is basically an anti-aliasing filter that lives between the lens and sensor. We’ve been doing a bunch of low light testing with our RED camera with LLOLPF installed and we’re loving the results.
We had the Highlight OLPF when we first got the Dragon sensor upgrade — really love the color tonality of the Highlight OLPF. We’ve fund that the Highlight OLPF is the best option for high-key daylight images with improved highlight roll-off. The color tones coming out the Highlight OLPF are really spectacular — but the low light OLPF is great for higher ISO shooting.

Here’s a few images from the RED Dragon camera with the Low Light OLPF installed:
The Low Light OLPF is great shooting footage in darker environments and preserves color quality in mid-tones, darks, and shadows. The interchangeable OLPF system really makes the RED Dragon camera sing. Happy to finally have both OLPF’s and the interchangeable system.
